The Rangoon trailer has been widely appreciated by all and sundry. But what caught everyone’s attention is the brilliantly shot mud scene where Kangana Ranaut’s Julia and Shahid Kapoor’s Nawab Malik can be seen making love to each other.
While Kangana had made some shocking revelations about the scene and indirectly slammed Shahid, the actor had maintained his dignified silence. Kangana had said, “I don’t like intimate scenes in a film. They are the most difficult to shoot. You have a formal equation with someone and suddenly you are into each other’s mouth. That big moustache of Shahid is horrible. It was such a … Not a turn-off but a tragedy of different level! When I asked him about it, he said he applies wax and has a running nose! Mera naak isme bah ke jaata hai.”
Shahid heard all that Kangana said and then, when we quizzed him about the same, he simply said, “Shooting in the mud was the most difficult thing to do in the entire film. Upar se, it was a lovemaking scene where we had to kiss and make out. Our clothes would become so heavy because of the mud smeared all over us that it was simply disgusting. I would recommend others to never try this,” he joked.
But he soon added that the scene took a toll on his health. “Honestly, we had to shot for 3-4 days in total to finish the scene and by the time, I was done with it, I had already fallen so sick. I could not shoot for 10 days after that because my health had deteriorated because of the entire scene. But Vishal sir had a vision and you guys will have to watch the scene in the film to understand the essence of it.”
